• Apprentices are employed by CTC Apprentices through a formal process of job advertisements, applications, interviews and assessment for a trade aptitude.
• Apprentices are then placed (hired to) with host businesses for an agreed period. CTC Apprentices has a large number of employers – ranging from small to medium-sized to large businesses - who want to hire our apprentices and to train them in the chosen trade.
• Apprentices attend formal training throughout the apprenticeship period, generally at a TAFE facility, with the remainder of the time working within the host business, where receiving on-the-job work matched to the accredited qualification.
• Our Field Officers visit each workplace on a regular basis to monitor progress, safe work practices and the on-the-job training being provided and to discuss and resolve any other issues identified.
• We provide a full support mechanism for all our apprentices which can include mentoring on their training. We also assist with arrangements for off-the-job courses and check on progress with training providers.
Job Security
If work with your “Host Employer” runs out we rotate you to another employer to continue your trade training.
Work Rotation
Apprentices can be sure the training and employment they undertake are matched to industry requirements. Training can be tailored to suit individual employers' requirements. Apprentices may be rotated through different host businesses during their period of training providing the exposure required to achieve each of the competencies of their vocation.
Monitoring and Support
Our Field Officers carry out regular workplace monitoring visits, including safety checks, performance, counselling and personal support. Field Officers make sure apprentices are receiving adequate training and are engaging in safe work practices.
Employment
We handle all the paperwork and records for the apprentices and manage the payroll function as well as all other statutory employment obligations.
